Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance

Replace the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): If diagnostic testing confirms the TPS 'A' sensor itself is providing an erratic, out-of-range, or non-linear signal, replacement of the sensor is necessary. In some vehicles, the TPS is integrated into the throttle body and requires replacement of the entire throttle body assembly.

Replace the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor: If diagnostics indicate the APP sensor 'A' is faulty, exhibiting an erratic or incorrect signal, replacement of the APP sensor assembly (which often includes the pedal) will resolve the issue.

Repair or Replace Damaged Wiring/Connectors: If the issue is traced to corroded, loose, or damaged wiring or pins within the TPS or APP sensor harness connectors, repairing the affected wiring or replacing the connector will restore proper circuit integrity.

Clean the Throttle Body: If excessive carbon buildup or debris is found to be impeding the smooth movement of the throttle plate, a thorough cleaning of the throttle body can resolve the issue by allowing the throttle plate to return to its proper closed position and move freely throughout its range, thus ensuring accurate TPS readings.
